Darryl
Darryl was an athlete from a young age, playing as many sports as his parents would allow. Over the years, the types of sports changed but his commitment to learning and moving his body continued to expand. Upon moving to Colorado in 2012, he discovered martial arts and trained in Muay Thai and Krav Maga for four years, where he also volunteered his time to help coach younger students.
While he started training in martial arts for the physical aspects, he was very surprised about the mental benefits that quickly superseded their counterparts. In 2016 he began working as a kickboxing instructor and eventually became the gym manager where he worked for three years. During that time, his approach to health and wellness took another turn and he became certified in nutrition coaching and connective tissue therapy to help the members create a holistic and multifaceted approach to reach their goals.
Going through this transformation helped him realize that his purpose was to help others become better versions of themselves. He believes that having fun while training hard and pushing ourselves to break through our mental and physical boundaries helps connect our bodies and our minds so that we can be better to ourselves and others. Darryl is honored to be a part of TMA's community and can't wait to continue learning and training together!
