We are excited to announce that we will be adding Yoga to our program. We are always looking at ways to improve our Martial Arts training by adding classes we feel will benefit our students. Every Saturday from 8am-9am starting April 8th Ms. Kristi (Kristine) will be leading the classes. She recently starting training at Tran's. Here is a quick bio of her.
Kristine began her yoga studies in Rishikesh, India in 2015 and has continued to hone her knowledge with local talented teachers here in Boulder. She is trained in Vinyasa and Hatha styles of yoga in addition to Restorative, and most recently, Yin Yoga.
She is most passionate about the neurobiology of mindfulness. Therefore, each class incorporates a highly mediative aspect, thus strengthening our ability bring the brain into balance by creating a sense of safety, trust, and peace.
Classes taught on Saturday mornings at 8 am will be in the style of Yin Yoga. This includes a series of floor postures held from 2-6 minutes to allow the body to expand into the fascia and connective tissues. Props will be provided to ensure safety and support in each pose, when needed. Postures are designed to create more opening and flexibility in all areas of the body, and may be specific to one region, such as shoulder opening. The needs of students are always of importance, and requests to incorporate poses that address specific needs are both welcomed and encouraged.
